18th September 2023
Hollywood ICA President Ann Clancy welcomed members back on Thursday 6th after a busy summer recess. June saw the Guild have a summer outing to Mt. Congreve garden in Waterford. In July the ICA in conjunction with the GAA and the parish were involved in the organisation and running of a very successful and enjoyable Field Day. Four ladies will represent Wicklow in the ICA National Pitch and Putt competition in Sea point later this month. Members during the summer worked on a project promoted by Ann Hunt making fidget blankets for Alzheimer patients. Last week the community presented itself as a ‘Pride of Place’ candidate in the small village category and the ICA were actively involved. The next Guild meeting will be on Thurs 5th October. New members are always welcome.
The Hollywood Sign
The Hollywood sign overlooking the village is temporary and maintained by local volunteers. The sign has proven to be a popular tourist attraction and well-liked by the local community. For these reasons, the Hollywood Community Forum is working hard on developing a new Hollywood sign to adorn our hills and has received planning permission for a robust permanent sign. We are currently working through the various legal and financial issues to get the sign made and erected. If you have any enquiries, please email us at email@example.com
