Investigation underway following knifepoint robbery in Wicklow Town

Wicklow Garda are following a definite line of inuiry following the aggressive and violent robbery of a teenager in the town.

The robbery took place at the Whitegates area at 9.00pm last Thursday when two men produced knives and threatened a group of four teenagers that they would be stabbed if they did not hand over their valuables.

One teenager was robbed of his mobile phone, money, and his Revolut card, before the two men fled on foot through a nearby housing estate.

The staff at King’s Gala Store raised the alarm and called An Garda Síochána when the small group of teenagers came to them for help.

The teens gave descriptions of the men to the police and it is believed that CCTV footage may also prove vital in identifying the men.
