Mountain Rescue Team respond to injured child in Glendalough

The alarm was raised at 2.55pm yesterday, and the Wicklow Mountain Team were shortly on the scene.

The Team responded to a Garda report that a young man (11) had sustained a leg injry while walking along The Sprink Trail. It was the 68th callout this year alone.

The child was stretchered out of the area by around 5.30pm and was brought safely to a nearby ambulance.

The Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team are a voluntary organisation who have been in operation, in form or another, since 1966. Their team is comprised of highly-trained mountaineers capable of carrying-out rescue services for the mountaineering community.
