Uisce Éireann want to know YOUR thoughts on their upgrade to Wicklow water supplies

Domestic Kitchen Tap - Water supply disruption

The water company, formerly ‘Irish Water’, would like to remind Wicklow residents to have their voices heard at their public consultation on the draft Regional Water Reource Plan, as the final submissions for this will be taken on Tuesday October 3rd.

The South-east region has 369,240 customers, for whom Uisce Éireann are planning to provide a more secure, reliable, and sustainable service over the next 25 years. This region encapsulates Tipperary, Limerick, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, and Wicklow.

However, Uisce Éireann have loftier plans than developing regional water supplies, the company also wants to offer the very first resource plan to cover the entire country’s water supply.

The NWRP (National Water Resources Plan) will aim to better understand the needs and challenges ahead of Uisce Éireann and their customers such as legislation, climate change, the environment, growth and economic development.
