Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning will seek to raise much-needed funds for Wicklow Hospice, and you are invited to come down, enjoy a lovely coffee, and give back to the Wicklow community in the very best way possible.

While the official coffee morning is to take place on Thursday the 21st of September, anyone interested in hosting their own coffee morning are invited to do so at a time that suits them throughout September and October.

Emily Barton, Public Fundraising Manager, Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services said: Now in its 31st year, the annual coffee morning is a special day for us in Wicklow Hospice. It is an opportunity for us to gather with friends, family and supporters over a hot beverage and at the same time, raise vital funds which we are continuously grateful for.

We look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces, as well as some special guests including a dear friend of Wicklow Hospice, Charlie Bird. The great thing about Bewley’s coffee morning is that everyone can take part, whether that’s at home, with friends or in work.

Even if you are not able to host or attend a coffee morning on the day, you can still do so throughout the months of September and October or by donating online“, she added.

Charlie Bird, friend of Wicklow Hospice said: Bewley’s Coffee Morning for Hospice gives us the chance to extend the hand of friendship to the incredible staff and volunteers who provide care and support across our community. I’m looking forward to attending with Claire and Tiger. I really hope all who can, either host, attend a local coffee morning or donate online.”

If you are unable to make it to Wicklow Hospice on the day, you can support Charlie’s campaign by donating to the ‘Coffee with Charlie’ page here.

Other coffee mornings taking place around Wicklow include:

  • 21st September St. Saviour’s Hall, Arklow, DNG Thornton office, Wicklow Town, Glenview Hotel and Glen of the Downs
  • 22nd September: Hartin Hall, Avoca
  • 23rd September: North Wicklow Country Market, Newcastle and Methodist Hall, Wicklow
  • 29th September: St Kilian’s Hall, Greystones.

Those interested in hosting a coffee morning can do so by registering online right here.

Those registered, with the support of Bewley’s, will receive a special Host Pack, including poster, invitations, collection box as well as some aromatic Bewley’s coffee.
