All of Co. Wicklow advised to prepare for heavy rainfall this evening

A status yellow weather warning has been put in place for the East Coast of Ireland until 4am on Sunday morning.

The rain warning is in place for Wicklow, Wexford, Dublin, Carlow, and Kilkenny and came into effect at 5pm today.

There is heavy potential for flooding, dangerous travel conditions, and disruption to outdoor events. The downpours are expected to worsen current ground conditions.

The warning comes only a week after Storm Babet caused disasterous flooding in Co. Cork and many localised floodings in the East Coast.
