Wicklow Fine Gael Minister Simon Harris has announced extra funding for Wicklow’s libraries to provide for new computers, laptops, iPads and other ICT equipment.
This funding, provided by Minister Heather Humphreys, will benefit six libraries in Wicklow.
Communities across the country are set to be benefit from the initiative – with a particular focus on supporting young people, our elderly and our disadvantaged.
Speaking today, Minister Harris said “I am delighted to announce that Wicklow’s libraries are set to receive extra funding for new computers, laptops and other ICT equipment.
“Our libraries provide vital supports to local residents, especially those coming from disadvantaged communities.”
“It is fantastic that under today’s announcement, funding has been secured for the Arklow, Ballywaltrim, Bray, Blessington, Greystones and Wicklow libraries.”
“I look forward to seeing this new equipment put into use and serving our communities to help further develop digital skills and access online Government services.”
Minister Harris thanked Minister Humphreys for her leadership in ensuring everyone has access to vital digital support.
