Wind and rain warnings for Wicklow as Storm Ciaran approaches

A yellow wind and rain warning has been issued by Met Eireann for a number of counties today.

There will be a status yellow rain warning for Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, and Waterford today and will be valid from 7pm until 7am the next morning.

Met Eireann are warning of strong and gusty winds accompanied by showers, and have stated that there is a potential for flooding due to further rainfall and already-saturated ground conditions.

Storm Ciaran has been raging in Northern Ireland since the weekend and has already caused untold damages with the flooding of Newry City Centre, along with damages to homes and business premises in Co. Louth.
