Local Fianna Fáil Senator, Pat Casey, has welcomed new grant funding of €50,000 allocated to Knockananna GAA.
The funding is being provided as part of the CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais) programme funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and forms part of the Government’s ambitious new five year policy for rural Ireland, Our Rural Future.
Senator Casey said: “It is fantastic to see this new funding be allocated to Knockananna GAA.
“It will go towards the resurfacing of the carpark and walkway around the pitch.
“Investing in Our Rural Future is a key priority of Fianna Fáil in Government and we want to ensure that local sports clubs, that are at the heart of pride of place, community and belonging, are supported.”
