‘Let there be light!’: New public streetlights switched on in Kilpeddar

Kilpeddar finally have new public streetlights after months of work by both Wicklow County Council and the ESB.

As the days become shorter and shorter, the locals of Kilpeddar have faced a very real danger without the use of streetlights to illuminate their roads and pathways. But now, after months of work from Wicklow CoCo and the ESB, the newly constructed streetlights have finally been connected and switched on – just in time for Winter.

Minister Simon Harris commended the workers and local community: “Although this been long overdue, I want to commend local residents and members of the community for never giving up and relentlessly pushing for improvements to public and pedestrian safety.”

“It is great to see these lights on before the shortest day of the year, and I know they will be a reassuring addition for all those living in Kilpedder.”
