Wicklow swimmers set off on charity swim around the coast of Ireland

A group of sea and pool swimmers from Greystones have set off on a swim around the coast of Ireland to raise much-needed funds for Wicklow Hospice.

The brave swimmers will take the challenge to swim the 3,171km around Ireland, testing themselves completely while also supporting the staff and patients at Wicklow Hospice.

As of yesterday, the collaborative effort had already seen the swimmers collectively clock up 1,780km.

This is not the first time a particularly brave group of Greystones swimmers have braved the elements in the name of charity, as in January 2022, Emma Finucane, Rory Somers and Bronwen Allan covered 64k of the Wicklow coastline, raising €1,300 for Wicklow Hospice.
