Bray man jailed for assaulting tourists

Two men have been jailed for the assault of two American tourists in Temple Bar on July 19th of last year.

The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that the tourists, who are twins, were walking through Temple Bar when they were set upon by the two men, where they were kicked and punched, and had a wallet and phone stolen from them.

A man with an address in Bray plead guilty to assault causing harm and robbery of one men. He was handed a sentence of three years and three months imprisonment with the final nine months suspended. The court heard that he has 61 previous convictions for criminal damage, theft, and possession of knives.

A man with an address in Crumlin plead guilty to two counts of assault causing harm, and was handed a sentence of two and half years with the final 12 months suspended.
