Wicklow artist creates sculpture to highlight importance of mental health and wellbeing

Local artist Sarah Eva Manson created a stunning elephant sculpture as part of the Elephant in the Room initiative to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and beyond.

In a combination of art and advocacy, Sarah Eva Manson created her stirring and thoughtful piece on behalf of Deloitte, a company that offers audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance services.

The elephant sculpture, adorned with beautiful designs, symbols, and colours, serves to remind both clients and employees of Deloitte of their commitment to fostering an environment where mental health can be openly discussed and supported.

The Elephant In The Room movement has been at the forefront of mental health awareness, using art as a medium to break down barriers and encourage conversations about a topic that often goes unspoken. The adoption of Manson’s elephant by Deloitte serves as a physical reminder of the invisible issues that many people face daily and the collective responsibility to address them.

Deloitte’s commitment to this cause is further exemplified by their inclusive policies and support networks that prioritize the well-being of their employees. The unveiling of the sculpture was met with enthusiasm and support, signalling a positive step towards normalizing mental health discussions in professional settings.

The sculpture is expected to be a focal point for ongoing mental health initiatives and will reside at Deloitte’s offices as a beacon of the company’s continued support for mental wellness.
