Here is what’s in store for St. Patrick’s Day in Wicklow

It’s almost that time of year again, where whole towns and cities are bathed in green, white, and orange, and everyone and their uncle is claiming Irish heritage in one way or another. St. Patrick’s Day never fails to amaze, and the festivities are always top-tier here in Wicklow.

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday brimming with its own traditions, like wearing green, eating corned beef and cabbage (no idea where that one came from), attending the parades, enjoying a few libations, and of course – planning your festivities a week ahead.

Indeed, to truly get the most of out Paddy’s Day, it’s ever-important to plan ahead so as to avoid disappointment. You’ll need to know what’s on, when it’s on, and how you’re going to get there.

As such, the public are being reminded to plan their journeys in advance as there will be road closures and schedule changes to public transport services. IrishRail will be running a sunday service for InterCity and DART services, with some additional trains being added to help people getting to and from parades.
