Byrne (née Petrie), Avalon, Arklow, Co. Wicklow, 3rd June 2020. Our inspirational warrior slipped away serenely and peacefully at home, in the loving care of her family. Elinor dearly loved wife of the late Desmond (Des) loving mother of Lesley, Wayne and Laura. Beloved sister of Shelagh, the late Ronnie, Teddy, Linda, Joanna and Gerry. Mother-in-law of Rachel, Stephen and the late Derek. She will be sadly missed by her loving son, daughters and Tommy, grandchildren Darragh & his wife Imaan, Rebecca & her partner Conor, Cian & his partner Yasmin, Óisín, Kayla and Holly, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

We appreciate all the love and support from our family and friends. As we are legally bound to follow the guidelines set out for us by government, it is necessary for our beloved Elinor to have a private funeral, if you wish you can join in the celebration of her funeral Mass at 10am on Saturday morning via http://www.arklowparish.ie/webcam/Funeral cortege will depart The Church of Saints Mary & Peter, Arklow (friends are invited to form a guard of honour on ‘The 19 Arches’ bridge in Arklow at approx. 11am). Private cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin.
